The drill is excellent when used properly but to tell beginners not to use
there bodies is absolute nonsense. Every professional golfer on the planet
turns the body for maximum speed and also for shaping the shots. This vid
should be removed ???????????????
The number one myth in golf is that golf instructors know what they are
talking about. If you are using your arms and hands to hit the ball then
why bother turning your body or your hips? Seems like a lot of unnecessary
movement.?
Completely wrong. You are advocating swinging with the weakest muscles in
your body. Your downswing arc should not be the same as your backswing arc.
Your downswing arc narrows and flattens as your right elbow drops to your
right hip. Then you can use leverage to hit the ball, which is a lot more
powerful than the slapping motion you endorse. You swing with your hips.
Not sliding towards the target but swinging left of the target. Its
teachers like you that have kept handicaps high.?
This is a good knowledge for most beginners to have. Now a question for you
though, what would you do when you are very tired but still want to have a
long hit? Of course I can swing slower to get the right timing, but that
kills the distance for me. Any advice? As this is what I do when I force to
swing very fast yet my muscles are really tired . thank you
