Pitching practice?
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Good simple drill, well done!
Oops – found the long game assessment..thanks!
Lawrie just a quick note of thanks for putting up another quality video.
Your stop slicing videos (left hand grip alteration) has allowed me to
change from a weak fade that was robbing me of distance (especially with
the driver) to a nice draw that has added 50m+ to my driving distance.
Thanks again – I hope you receive adequate reward for all of your hard work.
Hi John, ideally you will use all your wedges and practice the 3 swings and
work out how far the ball goes with the different clubs. Develop a matrix
that works like this: Short Swing – PW = 45 metres Mid Swing – PW = 60
metres and Long Swing – PW = 72 metres for example. Do this with all your
wedges and you’ll have information on how far you can hit each wedge with
the 3 swings. I was using a 52 degree wedge in the video.
Hi Lawrie, I was wondering which club is best for this ? pitching wedge 48°
or gap wedge 52°, i also noticed that your legs are closer to each other,
do you need to still accelerate quickly through the shot? cheers
Great video, i love the arm speed you mention numerous times. Johnny Miller
use to talk about how he would control his wedges with hand and arm speed
Great, I’m really pleased you got some value from watching the video and I
wish you the best of luck with your golf. Regulate arm-swing length and
match it with arm/hand speed and you can be a very effective golfer with a
wedge in your hands. Thanks for sharing your comments with me.
I’m glad you enjoyed it and we have more videos coming.
You should use your easy going instructional skills to create a larger
audience. Its simple, clear and non-patronizing for us mere mortals
confounded by the games mysteries. Look forward to simlair on Putting and
long game. Chhers and best regards Subroto Mitra Singapore
You’re right Peter, many tour players take huge divots mainly for a couple
of reasons. 1. They play from soft (well watered) fairways providing little
to no resistance. 2. They have their hands leading well ahead of the
club-head steepening the angle of approach because the shaft has a lot of
lean as they strike the shot. So combined with a fast and complete shoulder
and hip motion they literally drag the lagging club-head through the turf.
Long and shallow divots should be your goal Peter.
Wonderful video!
Great feedback like yours makes it all worthwhile![:)](http://golfvideohub.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/simple-smile.png)
Do you know, I’ve not seen better “close game ” help than this ! I don’t
have any rope, so I laid a couple of long irons down as a target line ,
really helped.
A question Lawrie, I see many tour pros take huge divots with their wedges,
your thoughts?
Thanks for taking the time to share your comments and I wish you luck with
your practice and play.
Thank you I’m very pleased that you enjoyed the video and I wish you much
success with your golf.
