craigman77 you have a unique gift. Enjoy? it!

craigman77 says:

Something that doesn’t? make sense to me in this video. I have no curve at all on the ball except on the occasional mishit….otherwise my ball flight is straight as an arrow…especially on my irons. Even my natural solid strike on my driver or hybrids is straight.

froneputt says:

Once your setup adjustments are made, I’d swing normally.?

froneputt says:

Well, Joe and Grant introduced the reason for hitting cold golf balls – it was a response to questions from? their Euro followers as to the effect of cold conditions – it was not necessarily for beginners. But it did tell me that I should consider the idea of a higher spinning golf ball in the cold, or keeping an extra ball or two in my pocket to keep it warm.

William Bush says:

I? have more trouble hitting a fade. So for a fade I’m guessing that the clubface is closed to target, feet and body are setup left to help the path…where is the weight for the fade? Still towards the front?

thwp2 says:

Really, really interesting? video. Pls keep the vids coming!

shawneepure says:

Dead nuts two in a row! Sweet. Excited? to see the fundamentals.

treyhayden says:

Awesome experiment at the end guys, keep them coming and? keep up the good work.

minwooyah says:

S&T is IMO confusing ppl into thinking that its something way out there when in fact the premise of it all is to stay on top of the ball taking it back. S&T is fundamental. What WaiteMayo are doing isnt making things difficult at all. IMO a golfer wanting to improve and play well should invest some time to understand their videos because the truth is that the golf swing has been ripped to pieces and leaves even the best? of em perplexed. Theyve done a fantastic job of dumbing down the essentials

Greg Brown says:

Yes because handicaps have lowered with the tried and true swing back, swing through, these are the fundamentals? IMO its the opposite, very very poor information out there on what is actually? happening during impact. Like hit down to make it go up, keep your head down, etc.

Arch Graham says:

These guys are both very intelligent people. Although I am not huge fan of S&T, I do see its merit for various players in the game of golf. The vast majority of new people trying to learn the game would stop watching this video at the 5 minute mark. Notice how these guys started with a simple grip lesson to finishing? hitting golf balls that were frozen in ice. How does that help teaching beginners? My fear is that by bringing in too much science, we will not grow the game. It needs to be easier.

ivar2791 says:

See ralphsunnyside for a reasonable description.?

ivar2791 says:

thats because if? you align square and take a normal planar swing the club face hits on the downward arc (assuming ball turf contact) that causes a club face that is square to ball and is pointing to the right (square to path) causing a straight push shot. You may, with your natural in to out path already have a path that is more to the right with your club face hitting down pointing to the right that is open to the target line but closed to the path creating a draw.

djp3525 says:

This is great guys. True story: I saw Grant’s swing on youtube and decided this was the swing I wanted to emulate. Research led me to Stack & Tilt and I dropped my? handicap 12 points in 6 months.

luckigolfer says:

I’m a? low handicap and I enjoyed this.

John Robison says:

Maybe the answer to my own question is that a R2L flight is more repeatable as? the golfer improves all fundamentals of his swing. But than I wonder, if that’s true, if swinging right of the target is a more natural move (for me it is – it became that way over time anyway), why should he align right? Isn’t that already provided for in the natural swing path? Isn’t he now swinging right of right? I feel like I’m missing something.

John Robison says:

I’ve always wondered about this: If the majority of amateurs move the ball L2R, that would imply that it’s a more natural, easier move to make. If that is true, why teach a less natural move to get the ball going R2L? Why not just build on the natural L2R move and? build consistency in it? I would have guessed that if R2L is more natural or easy to replicate, the majority of amateurs would err toward the hook rather than a slice.

Audrey Ziff says:

Thanks for video guys. Why the cold-ball test on a video for beginners? Wouldn’t they be more likely to have beer in their coolers??

Tom Sheely says:

Great video. I really like the level of detail. You don’t get that with most YouTube instruction. I consider you among the leaders of the new breed of “science-based” instructors. We need to keep filling the YouTube bucket with the more and more information that? dispels all the myths generated by the “opinion-based” crowd who have not? kept current with their knowledge.
