Wayne Crawford says:

Thanks so much I tried it today and hit? driver and irons great!!!!

meandmygolf says:

Hi Christian, I doubt it will be too much bow in the left wrist. It is more? than likely to be a closed face in the backswing. If you have a strong grip and you are struggling with the left shot then it may be a good idea to weaken it bit by bit. We always say it’s only a hookers grip if you hook it. It may feel strange but could be the best way!

Christian Meyn says:

Great video guys. I have been bowing the wrist now for a year, and I seem to be pulling or hooking my shots now. Is it possible to “bow” the wrists too much, or is it my grip that needs to be weaker?? I have the same strong grip, from when I first picked up golf.

Tim Austin says:

Hi guys, did you do a video on squaring the club? I’m having the same problems – i used to scoop but now block and? slice because i am getting my hands/wrists more forward. Also – are the wrists in the same position with the driver?

ardeleanu1963 says:

It definitely was from a weak grip! And all along I thought I was hitting with a strong grip!!! I was religiously checking the “two knuckle” rule! I guess at the? time of take away, somehow my grip was “slipping” back to a weak one (this is how I started hitting before I talked to a Pro). Now I make sure the club face points down to the ground. The shots are dead straight. I am getting a bit more distance with less effort – I could say. Good advice! Thanks a lot guys! You rock!!!

meandmygolf says:

The thin shot will still be from the scooping. It defintely sounds like you are scooping as a result of an open face. I would certainly check the grip and backswing but closing the face is definitely the right thing to do. That will lower your flight also.On the range? it would be good for you to hit a few of the shots to the right. that will then help you create more lean.

ardeleanu1963 says:

Thanks again. My iron shots are dead straight. No distance? though but lots of height. I was told by an Instructor that I am “scooping”. Probably your drill will help. I am trying now to “roll over” the left wrist on top of the right one and I am getting more distance, but I am also getting inconsistency and some time I hit thin. Any comments? Thx guys.

meandmygolf says:

What the Golf Channel were? referring to is the bowing of the lead wrist through impact. This allows the face to square whilst leaning the shaft toward the target. They key thing is ball flight. What is your ball flight. If you tend to hit the ball to the left (fade/slice) then producing a good impact will be harder. It is much easier to create a “strong” impact when the ball is going slightly right. Does that make sense?

ardeleanu1963 says:

Hi guys, nice job as usual! Quick question: my wrists are pretty “solid”. I do not “flip” but I do “scoop”. My left hand goes underneath – I am a lefty. I get lots of heigth and not enough distance. Is this a grip issue? Don’t think so, because I have a “strong” grip. I watched? once on Golf Channel someone saying that the knuckles of the leading hand to point towards the ground at the follow through. Isn’t this that “wrist rotation” everybody is talking about? Thx again.

Lee Collinson says:

way to go guys, just slate all the golfers that watch your videos 😉 “all the? bad impact positions” very poor communication!

spacefieldtime says:

nice thinking and? great drill………..

gmonkey808 says:

great post. im? getting a push straight right though about 5 degrees.

123klopper says:

I will try this out, seems great advice and drill?

meandmygolf says:

The club face is usually the main thing Matt? and if you hit it very high there is a good chance that your club face is slightly open. When you do this drill with the golf club just make sure you square the face otherwise the ball will go right. Hope it helps.

Mat Frost says:

Good video and great for you guys to take time to do it. Would be better if you recorded audio inside and layered it over the video, as it is very windy.Going to try the drill today and see how this evening goes. I hit a good ball, but I know I am to ‘Wristy’. 3 Iron has height of? a wedge. Still got length, but I want a more penetrating flights :-)

meandmygolf says:

Hi. This could be the case yes. If you are hooking then the club face is closing somewhere. Impact could be a? problem but i would also be looking for the club face in the backswing. Have you seen your swing on video to check this?

CIARANB92 says:

Hi guys, I am currently struggling with a hook with my irons. My golf instructor has looked at me and says my grip + posture are great but I am flipping my hands like this at impact causing a hook. Can this be right?? Can a poor impact position cause more than fat and thin shots as described? Thanks in advance, love the videos:-)

meandmygolf says:

Hi Ray. The toughest part is to square the face while doing this.? You will probably be releasing the club but leaving the face open. I will look at doing a video on this asap. Great point and a common problem. Thanks for watching!

Ray Jones says:

Guys,
this is superb, but it looks like there s no release, and when ive tried to do this, it causes me? to block the ball.
Can you do a second part drill for helping getting the club square ( and releasing ) please?
Thanks, Ray.

Tommy Uyliapco says:

Thank you guys, very well explained? and demonstrated.

Áron Fábián says:

Thank you!?

Craig P says:

New subscriber, and you guys are terrific! Excellent video and you’ve finally demonstrated clearly something I’ve been trying to understand ever since I read about Ben Hogan talking about? it. Now, keeping that position in mind; what is the “uncocking” of the wrists, and when does it happen?

?? ? says:

I’m a beginner, almost 7? months, thanks for all of yours, I have learned more correct point of view from your video.

meandmygolf says:

Thanks for the comment. It all depends where you are in your? downswing. What i would say is that the more the body rotates, the more the club face will remain open. It is usually with the hands.

meandmygolf says:

We will take that into account. Thanks for the? feedback and thanks for watching!

meandmygolf says:

Great! Thanks for watching and hope our videos help you? out.

Ray T says:

I watched probably over 100 golf? videos and your videos are the best. I finally know how to do a proper golf swing……Thank You…..

Hohooho Hohoho says:

When you make a vid and usually hit it at the end please can you show the proper method at your normal swing speed in slow motion. thanks,? great vids

jamie75ism says:

First off, great video guys. My question is does the rotation of the body square the club face? There are no less than a million videos on how to square the club face,? each different. What is your advice, and please elaborate. Thanks.

meandmygolf says:

Yes thee clubs momentum and sequence of events will unhinge the club just before impact when done correctly. As regarding changing impact, it’s not an? easy or quick thing to change but with the right practice and over time you can make good changes. Definitely months rather than weeks though.
