I know i should do my own thing, but the fact that tiger is tall and has
long arms (like myself) I like to watch his posture and swing plane and try
to replicate it. I find that my hardest thing to do is address the ball and
align myself properly. Does any one have any general rules of thumb for me
to follow? ?

Barami Snaeha says:

15th hole of Alpine Golf Club Pathumthani,Thailand.
The trees are all fully grown now,it’s almost jungle to the left side
nowadays.
Not an easy hole especially if you failed to get on green you’ll struggle
to save par.?

Will Arnold says:

hahahahah please anyone with a paragraph comment must be a golf pro. That’s
why you didn’t make it!!!!?

jcsoxx says:

This is what I will practice all day long, the best golf swing bar none.?

preppy187 says:

His acceleration through impact back then was much more like Ben Hogan.
Today he still has good acceleration but if you compare his follow through
back then to today, you’ll see the difference. The follow through is an
x-ray of the “pressures and intentions” before impact. His follow through
here shows excellent counter forces that cancel each other keeping the club
straighter through impact. Kinda like a baseball pitching machine. One disk
spins clockwise, the other disk spins CCW and the ball spits out straight.
But obviously his knee gave him problems but that was because he was pigeon
toed with his left foot which over torqued the knee over time.?

canefan17 says:

@alan lee

He still gets stuck. 2 plane, 1 plane, blah blah blah. He has 2 misses
now… he had 1 back then.?

samimalmstrom says:

His shoulders are nearly perpendicular to the ground at and just after
impact. Amazing.

Atlas _ says:

@mrsteckleinjr I think his positions now are a little more solid than this.
Especially in the take away where his hand path isn’t out like it is here,
rather it’s straighter dtl, and his position at the top is mucho the
natural than it is here where his right elbow comes up and forward.

Justin Kallmann says:

can you do a face on of tiger’s 2000 swing in slow motion

Cody Ballou says:

Not really fair to say when his swing was off he was REALLY bad when he
made 142 consecutive cuts. Have to be pretty damn good to accomplish that
feat.

thegolfghoul says:

Damn…

Timothy Frost says:

I agree that technically his swing seems better now… but I think this was
a more natural swing for him having developed it throught childhood. Golf
for these guys is feeling where the club face is, whether its
across-the-line at the top doesn’t matter so much if you know where it will
be at impact. I think Tiger could just see and execute the shot more easily
back then. It has taken a while and he’s getting his mojo back
impressively, but I’m not sure that instinct will ever 100% return.

Alan Lee says:

All in all, when his old swing was on, he was really good. But when it was
off, he was really bad. He definitely had to change his swing because of
his knee now we’ll have to wait and see if he can ever be really good again
without his natural swing.

Josue Larios says:

because his knee can’t take the pressure he’s put on it with that swing for
years. look up “Tiger Woods Sports Science” and you’ll see. years of this
swing lead to his surgeries in 2008/2009

john mcconnon says:

Remember that a lot of those strokes from 100 yards and in are tap in putts
or shorts putts. Long game is vital. Most world number 1s and legends of
the game were long hitters.

Anabelle Bailey says:

Excellente shot. Tiger Woods is really holder of golf now and forever..
Good luck in the future.

brewmaster95060 says:

He does not swing like that any more.

bob g says:

he hurt his knee in a training exercise with navy seals. The running in
heavy combat boots didn’t help either.

mathison2014 says:

his swing now is built all around his knee, its the swig that will allow
him to play the longest

Corby says:

i wish i could hear this impact

Alan Lee says:

You can play great golf without a great swing. A lot of pros are near
scratch golfing from the other side. Tiger is like a 2 handicap as a lefty.
When you figure half your strokes are within 100 yards, you can be play
great golf without a great swing. But yea, maybe to say he was really bad
was a bit of a generalization. When his swing was bad, it was bad. Remember
him always talking about “getting stuck” or has it really been that long? I
guess it has honestly.

brad stecklein says:

would be interested as to why he made a change? look at those positions.

BMWg84 says:

Why would Tiger want to change THAT!?

Alan Lee says:

Like everyone’s saying, it’s true about his knee. His new swing focuses
less on a big leg drive. This old swing may be more comfortable for him and
you might be right about his “natural swing” but it is a detriment because
it has more variable moving parts. His old swing is a two plane swing. His
backswing is steep so he has to make a move to the inside on the downswing.
This would sometimes lead to him getting “stuck” and having to flip it with
his hands, wrists, and forearms.
