cgasucks says:

Guys…since forged irons are made of a softer metal,? they tend to bend out of your specs the more you use them (especially if you hit off mats)…so have them adjusted every now and then…you don’t have to do this with cast irons as they’re made with stronger metals.

TheWorldwar2expert says:

The huge difference is that you can’t bend the cast clubs. When you want to get fitted, the cast clubs can’t get bent. Therefore, if your looking to get fitted, you want to get forged. And with the cast, also, as mark says,? you can hit the cast too solid, and it will never stop flying.

76cj258 says:

Give it a rest, he’s spot? on with casting? and he does say the forging is battering or hammering it into shape around the 1min30sec mark. What, are you? a metallurgist? There are also machining processes following the forging process. I think Mark does a good job.

Mike Boatright says:

Some companies? such as Adams claimed to forged their clubs but really use 8620 carbon steel which I think is essentially cast then form forged later. Stay with Mizuno and trust that they forged their clubs right.

Mike Boatright says:

The process is different as mark stated but what’s more important is the fact the ping and most other quality companies uses aerospace quality stainless steel? where forged is made from solid bars of 1025 or 1035 carbon steel. Carbon is softer than stainless steel no doubt. forged all the way as long as it’s the lowest carbon steel variety.

Johnlaser3 says:

hey man it’s all about what you want and what you like the feel of. Forged tends to be less forgiving usually. If you strike the? ball fairly well, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve played or your hc. You can play what ever you would like!

klf46151 says:

This guy doesn’t have a clue about casting? or forging metal. He may know golf but not qualified for this topic.

Brightyoungboy says:

Newish golfer (14 months).? Is there any link between handicap and which is best for that handicap. For example should high handicappers look at cast and low handicappers forged or is it purely about what you are comfortable with?

M Can says:

see on youtube: “Golf Forging Video – Long Version (Japan)” that’s forged.?

M Can says:

but that’s wrong not? he says forged = cut away… that rather sounds like cnc?

isn’t forged, heating? up a piece of steal and press/hammer it into a form?

Abdul Adzim says:

the irons has nothing to? do with why you need to hit the range all the time, your swing is.

Jared Fernandez says:

I play a cast iron, could this explain why i have to go to the range before every round to see how I’m hitting? that day?

CoachAsmono says:

Mark, your videos are amazing. You have great communication skills and the editing is perfect. You should be on The Golf Chanel? getting paid very well to do what your doing.

golfnomad says:

Forged feels better than cast. Forged for feel, cast? for power.

E6ROCK says:

more carbon would increase the strength of steel?

stumpyslvr says:

I think all steel starts out in liquid form so the air pocket theory is suspect.I think the main difference of a forged iron is usually made from softer steel, more carbon I believe.Plenty of very good players playing cast irons.Ping staffers, lots? of taylormade guys still using the r9 tp etc.

itsbetterintheslc says:

I just got some new forged Taylormade TP MC i was hitting cast Burnerplus So when i hit the forge solid today it felt buttery and they are? quiet i like to call them stealth shots haha

bulldog7968 says:

I would preffer to play forged i am currently playing all cast Burner irons but i have a forged cut-muscle Mizuno 6 iron and the 6 just feels so much better i am trying to make the switch from game? improvement irons to blades or some type of muscle back and when i hit the forged right it’s a whole new level.

happygilmore06 says:

Pwned! ?

9tube1 says:

Thanks for the great videos Mark – all of them!!! I switched to Mizuno MX-20 forged irons in 2002 and would never go back to cast. I’ve played the MP-32s since? their inception and know the exact distance each club travels. While my swing may not be completely repeatable, with these forged irons I know exactly which club to hit by simply looking at my Garmin. I recently switched from cast Titleist Vokey wedges to forged Mizuno R-12 (52,56 & 60) = softer feel and more consistent results.

Lloyd D says:

Forged all day long. Alot? better feel of the face. I use titleist ap2 712 irons and they feel alot better than cast irons

77cocopop says:

Cast v forged is always an interesting debate as both? have good points and bad points. Cast clubs = bigger sweet spot that should result in more consistency but can be prone to the odd hot shot and forged = better feel, better feedback, easy to shape the ball but smaller sweet spot which leads to more miss hits with shots coming up short of the target.

77cocopop says:

Its all about choice. Some prefer forged? others prefer cast.

chrislsarac says:

but doesnt all steel, metal, aluminum, cast iron, all come from some kind of liquid form? ?

haulnyyz says:

cleveland 588 please.? both? mb and cb??? thanks…. love the vids

redralph says:

vokey? wedges are cast lol

terrygoogle says:

MP-53’s are so lame.? Everybody knows that MP-52’s still rule! :)

beaugoring1 says:

hi mark, great video as always. i have moved from cast taylor made tour burner to nike vr pro combo. although the nike is not the softest of forging, the difference is? very noticable. far more consistant distance control using the nike clubs when hit out of the sweet spot so far more confident attacking the pins knowing that if i hit it well i know exactly how far the ball will travel

BigPoke89 says:

Great? video

MrPoopDickJohanson says:

Hey mark your probably not going to read this comment but can you do a comparison between Nike vr pro combo and titleist? cb?

srfbig says:

Great video. It’s also worth noting that the steel used to make forged and cast club are different. Cast clubs? have more carbon and chromium which makes it harder but brittle. Forged clubs require a softer steel with less carbon that allow the shaping process. The sound is from the material difference not the manufacturing process.

admc8 says:

he? did say both tho

Super1Matt1 says:

I would? like to see you put the 2 clubs on trackman and see what does happen? I’m sure others would be interested in that as well. So what do you say Mark?

massivesurfboard says:

“no serious golfer plays cast irons”. So Ping staffers are not serious players? I’m sure you’re a decent player, but the likes of Lee Westwood, Louis Oosthuizen, Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan might? just have the edge over you despite their inferior cast irons

As3sinoL0C0 says:

Don’t confuse people, the JPX 800’s are cast, while the JPX 800 pro’s are? forged.

RoxDigital says:

Why? don’t you demo Cleveland clubs?

fenderboy34 says:

yea, but he says that? they pound it later on

Andrew osh says:

Callaway razr irons? please!

deftkev says:

I’m a 10-12 HC and a good ball stiker (particularly w irons). I’ve always play some version of a cast, game improvement iron bc I always felt I could use the addt’l forgiveness. Recently in my search for new irons I decided to try forged sets w/ less game improvement and some blades. In the end I went with blades, MP68’s. I was shocked how easy blades are to hit. It is a total myth that they are tough to hit and only for very low HC players. They are very accurate and? perfect for a good striker

Jay Kay says:

I recently ordered a set of Mizuno MP-53 (5-PW) and JPX Fli Hi (3-4), of course took your advice and got fit via a Mizuno tour/fitting van. Previous to? the 53’s, I had Nike Slingshot HL irons which were the epitome of cast clubs (looks like the shovel). I ultimately opted for the forged Mizuno irons, solely because of how it made me feel as a player. I was hitting both equally well and I felt that Mizuno would make me feel “that” much like a better player. Plus forged clubs look 100x better.

TheyFearSwag says:

Subtitles are wrong?

1ronichaos says:

On my nike vr pro cavity irons, the little plastic piece on the hozzel has popped off on almost all of the clubs. Do you know how to pop them back in, or is that covered on some kind or warranty ? I got them for Christmas. Thank you for any help, and apparently many people have this problem.?

luckigolfer says:
